My column pounds again on Eric Holder over his jihadi lawyer stonewalling. Question: Where’s Mass. GOP Sen. Scott Brown? Remember when he made this one of his key campaign agenda items and carried the banner on the issue during his election night speech:
“And let me say this, with respect to those who wish to harm us, I believe that our Constitution and laws exist to protect this nation – they do not grant rights and privileges to enemies in wartime. In dealing with terrorists, our tax dollars should pay for weapons to stop them, not lawyers to defend them.”

The White House wants to play Transparency Olympics with the Tea Party movement. President Obama’s Chief Technology Officer Andrew McLaughlin dared Tea Party activists and conservatives last week to “push the administration to make its policies more open” and make it a “political competition…to see who can be more radical in their openness,” The Hill reported. So, let’s start by knocking down Attorney General Eric Holder’s national security stonewall at the Department of Justice, shall we? Let the sun shine in.
For more than a year, I’ve been writing about the looming national security and conflict-of-interest problems posed by Holder’s status as former partner at prestigious law firm Covington and Burling. The company currently represents or has provided pro bono representation and sob-story media relations campaigns in the past to more than a dozen Gitmo detainees from Yemen who are seeking civilian trials on American soil.

Book Description- During Dr. Mike Evans research for this book in Israel in late 2009, he was told by a high-level Israeli government official that should Iran achieve its nuclear ambitions, it would then have a nuclear umbrella which would allow it to accelerate terrorism throughout the Sunni Gulf oil states in an attempt to fulfill its vision of a world caliphate. An ensuing multi-trillion dollar nuclear arms race between the Sunni and Shia states in the region would drive the price of oil to never-before-seen levels for decades to come. The estimate given him was that oil prices could go as high as $200 per barrel. This would further decimate the world economy. With the ascension of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the position of power in Iran, much has been said about the Mahdi. Al-Mahdi was the Twelfth Imam in the line of Ali, who disappeared down a well at the age of five. Refusing to believe that he was dead, his followers imbued him with timelessness. They declared him to be merely hidden, or in a state of occultation, and declared that on some future date he would suddenly reappear to reestablish an Islamic caliphate worldwide. The Twelver’s eschatology, however, proved problematic; it espoused an apocalyptic upheaval in order for the Mahdi, or Hidden Imam, to ascend to his rightful place of leadership. These Twelvers championed the tenet that every individual, regardless of his religious belief, would one day bow to Islam or die. In Ahmadinejad’s mind, an atomic bomb in Tel Aviv would usher in the Mahdi, and all the world’s demise (Jews and Christians) would instantly be converted to Islam. Compared to Ahmadinejad and his Twlever band, al-Qaeda resembles Boy Scouts ushering little old ladies across busy streets. What does the world really think of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Twelver beliefs? Are most people aware of his devotion to the Mahdi? Do most understand that he is an ardent Twelver, a dedicated disciple of the Twelfth Imam, who will do anything to insure that the world is made ready for the second coming of a false messiah even if it requires manufacturing his own apocalyptic event to insure a rush to Armageddon? When Dr. Evans met Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s spiritual advisor in New York City for a UN meeting in 2007, he declared that his leader would usher in the Mahdi the twelfth descendant of Mohammad through such an apocalyptic event within three years. President Obama seems incapable of fully accepting his culpability should he pursue talks with Iran’s bloody regime. He was given a legitimate chance to support change for the good of the Iranian populace following the June, 2009 Iranian election. He had an opportunity to respond vigorously, yet he failed to do so in a timely manner. America’s forty-fourth president has all but acquiesced to Iran’s nuclear course. Even during the election process Mr. Obama signified that he was agreeable to a meeting with the regime: I would [talk to Iran's leaders without preconditions]. And the reason is this, that the notion that somehow not talking to countries is punishment to them — which has been the guiding diplomatic principle of this [Bush] administration — is ridiculous. The Iranians saw this as weakness on the part of the American presidential candidate. Since taking office, Mr. Obama has done nothing to counter that opinion. Ahmadinejad has declared the issue closed, not worthy of talks with the leader of The Great Satan. He has rebuffed the advances of a man who apparently wants to dance with Iran. Ahmadinejad feels he is in the driver’s seat, and unless a backbone transplant is in the offing, Mr. Obama will likely acquiesce to whatever terms Ahmadinejad demands prior to any face-to-face talks with the American president. The countdown to Armageddon has begun.

Pakistani Court Orders 2 Men’s Noses, Ears Cut Off

LAHORE, Pakistan — A Pakistani court has ordered the noses and ears of two men cut off after they did the same thing to a young woman whose family spurned one of the men’s marriage proposal, a prosecutor said Tuesday.
The anti-terrorism court in the eastern city of Lahore said it was applying Islamic law by ordering the punishment.
Lahore prosecutor Chaudhry Ali Ahmed said one of the accused, Sher Mohammad, was a cousin of the 19-year-old woman and wanted to marry her. Her parents refused his proposal.
Sher Mohammad and a friend, Amanat Mohammad, were accused of kidnapping the woman and cutting off her ears and nose in late September in the Raiwind area of Lahore.
The court on Monday also sentenced each man to 50 years in prison and told them to pay fines and compensation to the woman amounting to several thousand dollars, the prosecutor said.
Pakistan’s legal system has Islamic elements that sometimes lead to orders for harsh punishments, but the sentences are often overturned and rarely carried out. Serious crimes are often referred to anti-terrorism courts in Pakistan because they move faster.
Violence against women, especially attacks by spurned lovers, also occurs frequently in this impoverished South Asian nation.
The men have seven days to appeal the ruling, Ahmed said.

Are all people born mentally equal? Yes, said the French revolutionaries, introducing the French word égalité — “being no worse than anyone else.” Children are born mentally equal (égalité), but if they are born to aristocrats, they receive education and seem mentally superior, while if their parents are commoners, they may be unable to give their child any education, and he or she does physical work. Some Americans regarded independence from England not as Canada (which is not independent) does, but as a revolution against the English monarchy, similar to the French revolution against the French king, who was executed. On May 10, 1940, England was endangered more than at any time in its modern history. (Just six months later came the first all-Nazi blitzkrieg of Coventry.) Before, Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain believed that Hitler had been appeased. But he was not. It had been generally believed that wars are never conquests, but only quarrels, and it is possible to appease the quarrelsome litigant. Yet suddenly, contrary to all appeasement, Hitler invaded the Low Countries. Chamberlain resigned and advised the king to “call Churchill to be prime minister.” Winston Churchill was a Nobel Prize-winning historian and social thinker. After Hitler came to power in 1933, Churchill began to explain him and his wars as we see them today. Churchill was mentally superior to all British politicians, and was far more aware of the danger of Nazi Germany that Chamberlain was. Some of us in Russia heard Churchill’s radio address, while Stalin had concluded a peace agreement with Hitler and proposed to him to let the German troops go through Russia to India and thus conquer it. After Hitler invaded Russia, Stalin was confined to bed for several days. As a friend of mine gloomily joked: “Stalin did not trust anyone except Hitler.”Nevertheless, when Hitler attacked Russia, Churchill promised aid to the country. Churchill’s radio appearances showed how personally he was involved in the defense against Nazi Germany:
Well, according to General Chi Haotian of China, one-third or two-thirds (or perhaps three thirds?) of Americans should be killed by China’s first blow at the United States. Today, for the first time, the United States is endangered as much as England was in 1940. But the danger is different in its distribution in time. Hitler’s invasion of the Low Countries was a death knell for England. But the appointment of Churchill as prime minister turned Hitler to the invasion of Russia, where he perished. Today, “Communist” China is a worse threat to the U.S. than was the “National-Socialist” Germany to Britain in 1940. But what is the reaction in the United States? Nonentity Barack Obama, elected by a majority of voters, that is, psychiatrically healthy nonentities, declared post-1949 China a partner of the United States! As a response to my column of Aug. 13, an American voter sent me an e-mail on Aug. 14 — a kind of mental self-portrait of an American voter. His e-mail is signed: “Chris Surmeier, 1stSgt USMC (Ret.).” In the first paragraph of his page-long e-mail, Surmeier declares that “President Obama is smart enough to realize that China is home to nearly 1/5 of the world’s consumers.” And Surmeier says that I “don’t understand why the U.S. might want to forge a partnership” with China. Yes, why? Surmeier decided to study Japanese to improve his commercial performance. But his Japanese friend advised him instead to study Chinese because the Chinese “would be the key to business in Asia.” In other words, wars do not exist. When you hear some people speaking of war (as in Peter Navarro’s bestseller “Coming China Wars”), whisper to yourself, “money,” and rush to make it. That is, concludes Surmeier, “your arguments certainly suggest your [you are] NOT qualified.” His second long paragraph attacks my remark about the fundamental difference between medicine in places like ancient Athens, which gave the word “democracy” to our times, or the United States, where a patient has the freedom to choose his or her doctor, and medicine in countries of “state” slavery — countries like post-1949 China, where medicine is “collective” for everyone, except “communist” millionaires or top members of “the government and the party.” One point of Surmeier’s criticism is his conviction that there was no medicine in ancient Athens — why, there was no penicillin there, for example. “What the hell are you talking about?” exclaims Surmeier. In conclusion, he asks me to give him “the name and contact information for the person who allows [!] you to post on this site.” One word follows in the next line: “Ridiculous.” Presumably, he will try to convince those in charge of all Web sites that they should not post my columns (which, let it be known, I have been publishing since 1972). The day earlier I received the following response to the same column of mine of Aug. 13: Hello Lev Navrozov! You keep telling the truth about the Chinese Communist Party aka “Owners of China” and I thank you for that. I hope that soon many other writers will join you, certainly Writers Without Borders should be speaking out more effectively.
