SEIU behind anti-tea party website

Rick Moran

We received numerous complaints yesterday from AT readers who were concerned about a Google Ad that bashed the tea party movement. It turns out, that the website the ad was linked to was created with funds contributed at least partly by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).But the question of who sponsored it in the first place wasn’t answered until Lee Doren did a little digging:

I just came across a new website titled: http://www.TheTeaPartyIsOver.org

It is paid for by the American Public Policy Committee. Well, according to opensecrets.org

, the two donors for American Public Policy Committee this year are Patriot Majority and Patriot Majority West.

However, according to opensecrets.org, the 2nd largest contributor in 2008 to Patriot Majority was SEIU and other top Unions around America.  I imagine the diversion of Union money gets much deeper than this.  Please spread the word before they start getting their message out now.  Thanks. Good to know where your enemies are coming from.

Healthcare town hall meetings schedule

Meet the Marxocrats

The Republicans have RINOs: Republican in Name Only.  But what do you call a far left, radical Democrat who would go so far as to eliminate the First Amendment in order to silence dissent?

Marxocrat

Marxocrats, like Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Russ Feingold, and the like, are ideologically closer to Karl Marx than to John F. Kennedy.  As the Tea Party movement begins to spin off more mainstream Democratic candidates, listen for this word from the Tea Party Democrats to describe their hard left, radical primary opponents.

Marxocrat:  It’s like a Democrat without a soul

Healthcare town hall meetings – stay informed by Jim Brown, OneNewsNow – 8/7/2009

A Washington-based conservative group (TVC) is notifying Americans when and where their U.S. senators and representative will be holding healthcare town hall meetings this month.

The Traditional Values Coalition (TVC) is offering the free service and is encouraging Americans to take part in the town hall meetings in their congressional district. TVC executive director Andrea Lafferty says the events are an opportunity for Americans to register genuine concerns, not the “manufactured outrage” the White House claims is on display at the town halls.

It should be noted that the ad itself was placed by Google and in no way reflected our views. But, as our Editor in Chief Thomas Lifson pointed out, the editorial and advertising functions of the website are completely separate entities – for obvious reasons. Our opinions are not for sale and keeping a wall between these functions is necessary to ensure that. The ad has since been taken down.

Conservative Grassroots Movement Ignited by Obama’s Policies on Healthcare, Economy

President Barack Obama’s call for change is having an effect, though not quite the one he intended. Across the country a web-based, grassroots conservative movement has mobilized as never before, using cutting-edge social networking tools to organize tea parties and town hall protests against trillion-dollar deficit spending and socialized medicine.

Up to two million march to US Capitol to protest against Obama’s spending in ‘tea-party’ demonstration

Up to two million people marched to the U.S. Capitol today, carrying signs with slogans such as “Obamacare makes me sick” as they protested the president’s health care plan and what they say is out-of-control spending.

The line of protesters spread across Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the Washington Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.

People were chanting “enough, enough” and “We the People.” Others yelled “You lie, you lie!” and “Pelosi has to go,” referring to California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.

Demonstrators waved U.S. flags and held signs reading “Go Green Recycle Congress” and “I’m Not Your ATM.” Men wore colonial costumes as they listened to speakers who warned of “judgment day” – Election Day 2010.

Richard Brigle, 57, a Vietnam War veteran and former Teamster, came from Michigan. He said health care needs to be reformed – but not according to President Barack Obama’s plan.

“My grandkids are going to be paying for this. It’s going to cost too much money that we don’t have,” he said while marching, bracing himself with a wooden cane as he walked.

Organizers say they built on momentum from the April “tea party” demonstrations held nationwide to protest tax policies, along with growing resentment over the economic stimulus packages and bank bailouts.

Many protesters said they paid their own way to the event – an ethic they believe should be applied to the government.

They say unchecked spending on things like a government-run health insurance option could increase inflation and lead to economic ruin.

Terri Hall, 45, of Florida, said she felt compelled to become political for the first time this year because she was upset by government spending.

“Our government has lost sight of the powers they were granted,” she said. She added that the deficit spending was out of control, and said she thought it was putting the country at risk.

Anna Hayes, 58, a nurse from Fairfax County, stood on the Mall in 1981 for Reagan’s inauguration. “The same people were celebrating freedom,” she said. “The president was fighting for the people then. I remember those years very well and fondly.”

Saying she was worried about “Obamacare,” Hayes explained: “This is the first rally I’ve been to that demonstrates against something, the first in my life. I just couldn’t stay home anymore.”

The heated demonstrations were organized by a Conservative group called the Tea Party PatriotsThe Rally In Washington That Never Took Place

By David Hinz – Posted on September 13th, 2009

If a rally takes place in Washington, DC and the media ignores it, did it really ever happen?

The 9-12 Tea Party arrived in Washington, DC yesterday, and by anyone’s standards was a huge success. Time lapse photo coverage of the march down Pennsylvania Avenue showed a massive demonstration — estimated by some at more than a million people.

American citizens from all corners of this nation — most of whom have never participated in any kind of political protest before in their lives — carrying handmade signs, descended upon Washington, DC to voice their distrust for government interference and control over their lives.

These people are your friends and your neighbors. They are members of the local Rotary Club or the PTA. They represent, not the elites who run the political process in this country, but the people who must deal with the results of that process in their daily lives.

But for those poor souls who still receive their news from the Oldstream Media — the demonstration in Washington, DC might as well have never happened.

Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Your Boss The American People Are Fed Up

By Ken Taylor – Posted on September 13th, 2009
Depending on what news source that is quoted estimates of the September 12 march on Washington DC range from, “tens of thousands,” to, “two million.” The DC police and Parks and Recreation are estimating the numbers in the range of 1.2 million. No matter how you look at it a massive number of angry and fed up Americans descended on Washington to express what according to most polls most Americans are feeling. That government is out of control and it is time for the people to take our Nation back from the politicians.

Across the country many thousand more who did not go to Washington rallied in other cities, but whose message was the same, we are tired of deficits, we are tired of spending future generations into the poor house, we are tired of government taking away freedom by instituting control whether it comes through health care, bailouts or taking over private business. American are standing by the millions demanding that Obama, Pelosi, Reid and the rest of Washington listen to the Constitutional authority of the Nation, the people of The United States.

Thank You for Making YOUR Voices Heard

Thank you so much for coming to make your voices heard in Washington and around the country yesterday.  We had over 200 events in hometowns around the country in addition to the March in DC. Standing by the stage and watching people fill in the Capitol West Lawn from Pennsylvania Avenue, I was amazed at the crowd and completely energized!  Then more and more and more people arrived.  Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined what it would look like to see such a large crowd.  As I stood there, I knew that there were even more people all over the country demonstrating with us locally as well. The speeches were awesome!  They were heartfelt and inspiring.
Many of the Tea Party Patriots Local Coordinators and Members spoke at the March. I especially enjoyed hearing the Tea Party Patriots speeches.Thank you to all the volunteers around the country who organized buses, invited others to attend, drove to DC, made signs, helped at the March, organized local events, promoted the events locally, took photos, took video, made donations, and helped in the days and weeks leading up to yesterday!  Thank you to my two Co-Coordinators for the March on DC,  Brendan Steinhauser of Freedom Works and Darla Dewald of ResistNet, who are a pleasure to work with. Thank you Tea Party Patriots for giving me the opportunity to serve you by organizing the event in DC.  All the organizing and volunteering in the world would not have mattered without people showing up.  Thank you for being in DC and at local events around the country to make your voices heard.  You are the heart and soul of this movement!Hopefully, Congress, the Administration, and the local and state elected officials from around the country can hear us now.  If not, we will continue to stand shoulder to shoulder together to keep turning up the volume!!

Continue to keep up the incredible work you do to further our core values:  fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets.  You are the heart and soul of this movement.  Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help you!

Doctors Rally Against Healthcare Bill, AMA

Saturday, September 12, 2009 9:29 AMBy: Kathleen Walter
More than 1,000 physicians from all 50 states converged on Washington, D.C., on Thursday in demonstration against controversial healthcare legislation and the American Medical Association, a leading advocate of H.R. 3200, also known as America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009. Wearing surgical scrubs, chanting and brandishing signs, the doctors picketed on the front steps of the AMA’s building and delivered a very powerful message. See Video: Doctors rally against healthcare reform – Click Here Now “The AMA has sold out patients and sold out the profession of medicine,” said Kathryn Serkes, policymaker for the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), which organized the rally. “In July, they endorsed H.R. 3200 and took a lot of heat and lost members in droves,” said Serkes. “This week, they put out a statement that was an obvious attempt to repair that, but it’s obvious their position hasn’t changed,” she said. “The damage with the medical community cannot be healed.”The doctors then traveled en masse to Capitol Hill for the “Physicians, Stand Together” rally organized by the AAPS in conjunction with “tea party patriots.” The doctors are against legislation that would lead to a government takeover of healthcare, a move they believe would compromise patient quality of care.
